Ethernet Cufflinks

A while back we had a run down of the top ‘geek chique’ cufflinks’ floating around on the web. If your more of a do-it yourself kind of guy or gal this tutorial for Ethernet cufflinks might be just what you’re looking for.

All that’s required are some ethernet connectors, twisted pair wire and crimping pliers.

Cufflinks from Functional Objects

Glass Eye Cufflinks

One of the blogs I need to get my daily fix from is the Make blog and today they showed some really cool jewellery from Amy Pfaffmann, a designer based in San Francisco.

Amy makes her jewelery from a bizarre array of functional objects such as toothbrushes, wooden rulers and electronic parts.

Of course I had to go to her site and check it out and lo and behold she does cufflinks! This pair is made from glass taxidermist animal eyes. Link

When Cufflinks & Weblinks Collide

Filed under: Novelty Cufflinks - Administrator @ 9:17 am

In general I think if’s fair to say that us I.T Professionals are a pretty casual bunch. We’d rather be slobbing around in a t-shirt and jeans than wearing a shirt and tie.

But sometimes you just need to dress up. Perhaps you’re selling your Ajaxified Web2.0 app to Yahoo or begging a VC for a couple of mill.

It’s good to know that when you don that starchy white collar you can still allow a small measure of your inner geek to shine through, so today I present to you the top geekworthy cufflinks from around the net:

Robot Cufflinks5. Robot Cufflinks

First up are these robot bad boys from Cufflinks.com. On the back side is a little wrench. Definately got a "Calling Will Robinson" vibe to it.

4. Computer KeysComputer Key Cufflinks

If you’re looking for something a bit more understated these computer keys are pretty nice. Pick this pair up from Cufflinksworld.com although you can find similar cufflinks at most online stores.

Microprocessor Cufflinks

3. Fractalspin

Next on our tour is this classy black pair of microprocessor cufflinks from fractalspin

2. iKuffs

iKuff Designer Cufflinks

I think these iKuffs did the internet rounds last year but in case you missed them then these are the perfect pair for you mac crowd.

USB Cufflinks

1. USB Cufflinks

Finally, and in my eyes the clear champion, we have these USB cufflinks from toniawelter.de. No need to explain how completely cool these things are. Sadly still in prototype form but will be offered with up to 1GB memory. Only problem will be your shirt flapping about linkless when you actually use the thing.

Of course this is just the tip of the nerdy cufflink iceberg. All the big sites like cufflinks.com have a tech related section but these are my personal faves. If you’ve found any others you think are particulary geeky feel free to suggest them in the comments

Do Leprechauns Wear Cufflinks?

Filed under: Country / Global Cufflinks - Administrator @ 11:00 am

So St Patrick’s day came and went for another year. Hope you managed to sing embarrasingly loud, drink a Guiness or two and get a decent sleep in on Saturday morning. Since you really can have too much of a good thing I’m afraid you’ll need to stow away the huge green fleecy hat and embarrasingly bright green t shirt for another year….However if you just can’t handle hiding your Irish roots inside for a whole 365 days some simple but elegant cufflinks are surely the perfect way to show your pride. Here’s a few from around the web to cater for all tastes and budgets:

Silver Shamrock Cufflinks

This pair of silver shamrock cufflinks from Wheesh.com will surely give you luck
